Fifteen seasons.

Fifteen seasons I gave my all to Calgary every night I stepped onto the ice. My thanks? A one-way ticket to Colorado.

My welcome? A cascade of boos. They were well-earned because suddenly in that Mile High City air I was the goalie every team wanted to face, because even my grandmother could have scored.

I’m not stupid. I was brought here to groom a Russian phenom to take my job. But for now, it is still my job. And then one cheap shot changed everything.

My belief in my ability to do this job was cracked wide open.

My head coach believes in me.

So does our PR director.

I’ve not earned her unwavering support. But I intend to. Because that feisty redhead in that OMG red dress has altered every belief I have about what matters to me.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not too stubborn to screw it up.
